web frontend - What do I need to know before applying for a junior developer position? -

so background, i've been teaching mathematics 7 years , have masters in math education, , i've been studying fair amount of web development in hopes of transitioning career in web development.

so far, have been interested in front end technologies. i've done learning , building simple projects html, css, bootstrap, wordpress, javascript, jquery, , angular.

i've done very simple work/tutorials nodejs, ruby, , python. i've completed simple tutorial on sql queries , joins.

i've been talking few friends in development world, , not sure go here. 1 friend in enterprise software , security , thinks should know lot end , databases fair amount of knowledge of programming conceptual knowledge. other friend has worked in various positions in web development , suggests learn lot angular, , limited experience end dev now. suggests practice specific often-asked questions interviews.

i front end tech i've worked with, how need know end work ready apply junior front end position? how experience need working databases? topics should familiarize myself prepared technical interviews?

if want focus purely on front end development work there little need know great deal end stuff. if proficient in angular, javascript, html , css on course. suggest taking couple of interviews , seeing ask you feel weak on, , taking there.

there comes point when have "go it". best learning done in dev projects.
