vsts - Visual Studio 2015 Git Team Explorer has no "Related Work Items" section in the Changes pane -

this page describes linking work item commit in vs. updated vs make sure have latest stuff, it's vs2015 update 3, don't have related work items section in changes pane. using vsts , can work git fine, , can link items commits using # syntax , works, seeing list more useful.

i cloned repository manually, , shows in "local git repositories" in connect pane, makes me think isn't "hooked up" vsts within vs2015. there way facilitate connection, or need re-clone not through cli?

this because team explorer isn't connected project. don't need re-clone it, connecting project team explorer via following steps should fix it:

1. click "manage connections" link.
2. select project of git repository , click "connect" in pop dialog.

now when go "changes", should see "related work items" section:
