backend - Programatically preset a standard value for Regular Price -

in magento 2 backend, when adding new product, regular price empty. hint webmaster, want regular price preset value.

i hoping done with, instance, custom aattribute or system value setting, apparantly that's not case.

in m2 backend, in add product section, come across socalled "mask". way go? mask regular price exists?

i tried find way through config.xml , system.xml. not clear me how achieve want using technique in magento 2.

if there no other (rather simple) way, consider changing eav_attribute table (row: default_value) in magento database, don't think proper way of doing it.

so stuck. looks searching wrong keywords, because shows relates want.

anybody out there me on track?
