chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab seems to double the image size -

i'm interested in capturing active tab showing in chrome browser chrome extension.

i'm using function: capturevisibletab

although zoom level in browser 100%, i'm getting images 2x large i'd expect, regardless of website , regardless of image format.

is there i'm missing? can't seem find in docs related image scale.
