Why does this SELECT query disconnect from SQL Server? -

this query:

select '%3c%73%63%72%69%70%74'

disconnects tcp/ip connection sql server. string url encoding of <script. can imagine there may defence mechanisms <script , take counter-measures -- in can closing connection?
